About Crux Technologies
Crux Technologies, Inc was founded in 1999 by with a vision of growing into
a world-class software development firm.
In 1998, work began on a PC-hardware website that produced the need for
reliable hardware detection software. That hardware detection software,
originally code-named XDetector, quickly drew interest from
3rd party organizations looking to license the technology for their own use.
Later, as the XDetector 1.x codebase grew more mature, it was re-labeled PC
Examiner Version 2.0. During the 2.x phase, the PC Examiner Pocket
Edition and PC Examiner Plug-in for Netscape and Mozilla
were also introduced. These offerings freed reduced PC Examiner's dependence
on Internet Explorer.
Today, Crux Technologies continues to maintain PC Examiner and Font Runner, a
TrueType font management tool, while still cultivating new ideas into future
software projects.
